please keep aware of Covid-19 policies. The studio we work in requires that all visitors be fully vaccinated against Covid-19 and wear masks while in the building and during sessions.
to get the best out of your Alexander Technique group sessions
- be excited & open for discovery about your self, body & mind.
- be on time.
- socialise before the class before entering the studio.
- be dressed with comfortable pants and top, and either socks or indoor shoes that don’t mark. If you need to change into your exercise clothes arrive 5 minutes before the class and change in the dressing room in silence if there is another class going on.
- this is a mindfulness time so it is better if you concentrate on your self and the work.
- bring your yoga mat. (If you don’t have one, let me know at least 10 days in advance).
- bring your bottle of water. Other drinks or food are not allowed in the studio.
- use the rest room of the studio before the start of the class.
- of course! turn your cell phone off.
after an Alexander Technique lesson
- you may feel lighter in your movements and might need to re-adjust your pace.(Foe example, I myself usually have to go down the stairs more carefully if I don’t want to miss the step!).
- take notes of what you remember and write down your questions for the teacher for the next time.
- do not try to actually re-enact what has happened: just think, re-visualize what has happened.
- hear in your mind the words and sentences you have heard: do not DO anything.
- smile !
